That&#8217;s me."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE STUPIDEST ONE IN THE ROOM.<\/p>\n<p>Yup, that\u2019s me.<br \/>\nBeing the stupidest one in the room is my goal when I\u2019m with my team.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/images\/76eb2016-8a33-3538-1238-7d9b7202ca43.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" data-file-id=\"1807814\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/images\/76eb2016-8a33-3538-1238-7d9b7202ca43.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You see, I hire people much smarter than me.<br \/>\nThey do things so easily that I suck at.<br \/>\nThings I don\u2019t want to learn how to do.<\/p>\n<p>They are GREAT at what they do so that I can be great at what I do.<\/p>\n<p>Last week I took my 2 wonderful assistants, Karin and Simone, away on a special retreat for 2 days to finalize just about everything for 2022.<\/p>\n<p>I know they love doing research so I said \u2018Find a place you love that you\u2019ve never been to before. And make sure it\u2019s 4 stars because only the best for you!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Simone found a wonderful place next to the woods.<br \/>\nWe blocked 2 full days that flew by.<br \/>\n10 hours of brainstorming and meetings (in 1 day) felt like 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p>They even made an agenda ahead of time (of course they did. This is what they do. I would be lucky if I remembered to bring a pen.)<\/p>\n<p>Every hour had a different theme, focus, and goal.<\/p>\n<p>We worked SO HARD.<br \/>\nWe arranged my calendar for all of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sticking to 5 works on, 1 week \u2018off\u2019, which has been such a blessing this year for me.<br \/>\nWe have determined my fee, my products, and my coaching services, both for private and group programs, and corporate Business English courses, both online and on site.<\/p>\n<p>We raised my fee. Now I have zero problems (finally!) asking what my services are worth.<br \/>\nConfidence is priceless, right?<\/p>\n<p>I know when my courses start and finish.<br \/>\nI know when I will be expanding my team.<br \/>\nI know when my days off and my vacations are.<\/p>\n<p>DONE AND DUSTED. Hello, happy headspace!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/_compresseds\/029b15b1-4658-07c6-5163-f22225792ac2.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"499\" data-file-id=\"1807826\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/_compresseds\/029b15b1-4658-07c6-5163-f22225792ac2.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/images\/4e1ef5fe-672b-e72f-a6e8-21fef7af4799.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" data-file-id=\"1807822\" data-cke-saved-src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/945a4f95e721709d4096282cc\/images\/4e1ef5fe-672b-e72f-a6e8-21fef7af4799.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had incredible food, long walks in the woods, and beautiful facilities to keep us focussed but pampered.<\/p>\n<p>I am deeply grateful for my assistants.<br \/>\nKnowing that they are doing what they love lets me focus on doing what I love.<\/p>\n<p>So listen.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t try to be good at everything.<br \/>\nBecause you\u2019re not.<br \/>\nFind what you LOVE to do and delegate the rest.<\/p>\n<p>If you are just starting out, do a barter deal \u2013 trade services with someone who loves doing what you need doing.\u00a0That is exactly what I did when I was just starting out on my own.<\/p>\n<p>As a former control freak, I have now discovered the graceful and powerful and mysterious art of delegation. I love it so much. I am becoming a black belt in it.<\/p>\n<p>What can you delegate today?<br \/>\nGet out there and be the stupidest one in the room.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a wonderful place to be.<\/p>\n<p>Let people shine in their own way so that you can shine in your own way.<\/p>\n<p>And thank you from the bottom of my heart, Karin and Simone. I am deeply grateful for your expertise and passion.
