Can you D.I.G. it? Yes, you can!<\/p>\n

I had to jump into your inbox to share something very simple. Yet very powerful with you. It’s been a huge game changer for my clients, and I know it will serve you well as we leave this wonderful, crazy, hectic, gorgeous year.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s my very own\u00a0D.I.G. Method<\/strong>\u00a9.<\/p>\n

Here it is:<\/p>\n

Make a list of all the things you\u2019re not good at. Don\u2019t be shy \u2013 let it rip. Make a looooong list. What do you suck at? What do you find challenging? What do you hate doing because it\u2019s too hard? Write like no one is reading.<\/p>\n

Wait 3 minutes. Then go back to your list and look at it with fresh eyes. This is what you have been beating yourself up about for ages. For each item you see on that list, you can do 3 things: 1.\u00a0Delegate it to someone else 2.\u00a0Improve it with strategies, if it will contribute to a meaningful life 3.\u00a0Gracefully let it go, if it doesn\u2019t contribute to a meaningful life.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s my list. I was smart enough to build an amazing career around the few things that I\u2019m excellent at and deeply passionate about. There are hundreds of things that I suck at. For example\u2026.<\/p>\n

I cannot parallel park<\/p>\n

I do not know how to work in Excel<\/p>\n

I cannot read a map<\/p>\n

I make typos and have to Google new words<\/p>\n

etc, etc, etc. (Oh, I could go on for hours.)<\/p>\n

This is how I applied my\u00a0D.I.G. Method\u00a9\u00a0to myself:<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t need to learn how to parallel park. Having this skill will not make my life more meaningful. Just convenient. I\u00a0Gr<\/strong>acefully let it go. I always drive to a parking garage and walk to my appointment. This means extra exercise. It\u2019s just how I live now, and I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way.<\/p>\n

I have a super-smart team around me that puts my info into\u00a0spreadsheets\u00a0for me (I\u00a0D<\/strong>elegated). They get to do what they are\u00a0(very!)\u00a0good at \u2013 organizing my life \u2013 and everybody wins.<\/p>\n

Not being able to read a map means I get to talk to attractive strangers on the street who show me where I need to go. Sometimes they walk with me and we become friends. Once I had a police escort. This lack of map-reading skills has really made my life kind of awesome. (I\u00a0G<\/strong>racefully let it go.)<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how to play the piano anymore after playing for many years as a young child. I decided to\u00a0I<\/strong>mprove that, and now I\u2019m learning how to play again!<\/p>\n
