We laughed almost as hard as we worked \u2013 which was a LOT!<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0I went from Kanye and Jay Z one night (which was excellent, one of my favorite ones is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/jayz\/empirestateofmind.html\">hier<\/a> (one of my favorite lines: Cruisin&#8217; down 8th St., off white Lexus\/ Drivin&#8217; so slow, but BK is from Texas) to the premiere of The Little Mermaid musical the next night. My friend Doug wrote the script and it was an honor to be his date for the evening. After the show, I talked to the head of music at Disney who told me that what I heard was actually a \u2018virtual orchestra\u2019 \u2013 that means that \u2018instruments were playing other instruments\u2019 whoah!<\/li>\n<li>I work at 3 colleges which means I get the chance to correct LOTS of exams\u2026.good thing I love what I do\u2026.but still. This is taking valuable time away from me watching football! \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>YOUR QUESTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Someone asked me: \u2018What\u2019s the difference between \u2018I have never met him\u2019 and \u2018I never met him\u2019?<\/p>\n<p>Good question! I see these mixed up all the time, in lyrics, in normal conversation, and in written English. It\u2019s easy. If you use the Present Perfect \u2013 I have never met him- (which is chapter 5 in my course) this means that you can STILL meet him. The situation is not finished yet. So you haven\u2019t met him up until now, but this form of grammar means that it can still happen sometime in the future. So basically, he is alive but your paths have not crossed yet. If you use the Past Simple \u2013 I never met him \u2013 (which is lesson 3 in my course) this means that the situation is over. It\u2019s finished. It\u2019s not going to happen again. So, basically, you will never meet him again. He\u2019s dead. So be careful when using this form. Don\u2019t murder someone without meaning to! Remember folks, bad grammar can KILL! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><strong>TIPS DU JOUR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A weekly round up of my Tips Du Jour on Twitter \u2013 follow me here!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Where do you working? Is always wrong. Don\u2019t go there! \u2018Do\u2019 and \u2018ing\u2019 are never together. Ever. It should be \u2018Do you work\u2026?\u2019 or \u2018Are you working\u2026?\u2019 Don\u2019t cross-pollinate!<\/li>\n<li>Watch your prepositions! There\u2019s a huge difference between \u2018I\u2019m looking for my children\u2019 and \u2018I\u2019m looking after them\u2019. Please don\u2019t give me a heart attack!<\/li>\n<li>FOR or SINCE? For is used for a period of time \u2013 \u2018I have known him for 3 years.\u2019 Since is used for the day, date, or time the action started. \u2018I have known him since 2009.\u2019 (Both are used with the Present Perfect here, meaning that the action is not finished. See unit 5 in my course for more information.)<\/li>\n<li>More pepper in your soup: Don\u2019t forget to work on descriptive language to strengthen the visual imagery in your English. Use all 5 senses to describe things \u2013 it adds more color to your language!<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t translate literally! Someone said to me recently \u2013 \u2018This school is very heavy.\u2019 I replied, \u2018I wouldn\u2019t know \u2013 I\u2019ve never tried to lift it up!\u2019 (I think he mean that his school was tough, difficult, or challenging.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GIGGLE TIME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WARNING: Do not watch this if you are a child, pregnant (as they say on the video, which is funny all by itself) or are drinking coffee (as I say, because you will spit up laughing)\u2026.Just in case you were Korean and needed to know how to swear in English\u2026.don\u2019t say I didn\u2019t warn you! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h3v7xOEZwAA\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h3v7xOEZwAA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>THANK YOU.
