Peeps, there\u2019s a big difference between \u2018they\u2019re\u2019, \u2018their\u2019 and \u2018there\u2019 \u2013 although they all sound the same. Here\u2019s the lowdown: \u2018they\u2019re\u2019 = they are. \u2018They\u2019re coming over for dinner later.\u2019 \u2018Their\u2019 = belonging to them. \u2018That\u2019s their dog, not mine.\u2019 And \u2018there\u2019 = not here. \u2018I just saw Madonna over there!\u2019 So\u2026how about this beauty of a sentence?\u00a0 \u2018They\u2019re moving their bag over there.\u2019 Have someone try to write that down \u2013 see how well they do!<\/p>\n

If you \u2018watch\u2019 something, usually there is action or movement involved. You watch TV, sports games, children playing, etc. If you \u2018look at\u2019 something, then there\u2019s no action involved. You look at a picture, a photo, or a painting, etc. If you\u2019re \u2018looking at a TV\u2019, this means that you\u2019re interested in buying one\u2026or you\u2019re kind of stupid and forgot to turn it on.<\/p>\n

Well, Ms. A, thanks for asking! There are lots of good resources on the web to turn to when looking to enhance your vocabulary. Have a look at www.thesaurus.com<\/a> to stop overusing the same words \u2013 like big, nice, etc. How about \u2018colossal, massive, awesome\u2026\u2019 etc? And for some funky phrases and things you won\u2019t find in a classic dictionary, try www.urbandictionary.com<\/a>\u00a0 – it\u2019s fun, funky, and kind of dirty. Sign up for a free new word every day on their homepage.<\/p>\n
