{"id":18324,"date":"2026-04-13T11:21:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T09:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buffiduberman.com\/?p=18324"},"modified":"2026-04-08T11:23:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T09:23:25","slug":"how-strange-does-this-sound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buffiduberman.com\/nl\/how-strange-does-this-sound\/","title":{"rendered":"How strange does this sound?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m a 9.5\u2026.and you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YOU ARE NOT A NUMBER, and neither am I. \ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hi, I&#8217;m Buffi, and my shoe size is 9 1\/2.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How weird does that sound- if someone introduced themselves or identified themselves as a number?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guess what? <strong>You are not a number.<\/strong> I call that \u2018reductive thinking\u2019, reducing who you are to a mere number.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People do that without even realizing it. They say, \u2018I&#8217;m 70 kilos.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;re not. <strong>You&#8217;re a human being.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or they say, \u2018I&#8217;m a million-dollar coach.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not me. <strong>I choose not to identify myself by my weight, by my age, by my size, or what&#8217;s in my bank account. <\/strong>I see so many coaches online calling themselves \u2018a million-dollar coach\u2019. That means they choose to present themselves and identify themselves based on what&#8217;s in their bank account. Not based on the people they help, not on the lives they&#8217;ve changed, or the people they&#8217;re serving. So please choose carefully when it comes to coaches who choose to identify themselves according to how much money they\u2019ve earned.&nbsp; (And yes, <strong>the first time I hit that \u2018magic\u2019 financial number, I was proud<\/strong>. I took a moment of deep gratitude, raised a cup of coffee alone to myself, and <strong>then I got back to coaching.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My friend, remember this &#8211; you are not your kilos. You are not your size. You are not your weight. You are not your salary. You are a beautiful human being navigating the twists and turns of life. And believe me, <strong>all of those numbers are going to go up and all of those numbers are going to go down.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But not your age. That keeps going up. And up. If you\u2019re lucky<\/strong>.
