I get to work with amazing students, established artists, and write love letters to awesome people like you every single week. I understand the confusion \u2013 they are both used for a situation that is still going on, but they take different approaches. \u201cI <strong>have worked<\/strong>\u201d would be used for something like \u201cI <strong>have worked <\/strong>really hard today\u201d because today is not finished. However, if you want to focus on something that is still going on right now and started in the past, then you could say \u201cI <strong>have been working<\/strong> on a new project \u2013 it\u2019s really interesting!\u201d Another way you can see the difference is this \u2013 \u201cI am a writer. I <strong>have written<\/strong> 4 books so far. I <strong>have been writing <\/strong>a new book on the history of Korean dance tracks.
