This Thursday is Thanksgiving in America \u2013 a tradition drenched in history, culture, politics (which I won\u2019t get into now) and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mentalfloss.com\/article\/20218\/why-we-eat-what-we-eat-thanksgiving\" target=\"_blank\">FOOD<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As I slowly sip from the golden goblet of gratitude, I\u2019d like to take a moment to thank you,\u00a0for letting me slip into your inbox today. And every Monday. I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels \u00a0to reach out to so very many people every week. Many of you write me back\u2013 I\u2019m always so happy to hear from you all, thank you for taking the time to share your reactions with me!<\/p>\n<p>I have a little something for you. This time of year is full of social appointments \u2013 however, many people have told me they don\u2019t always feel confident extending invitations in English, and don\u2019t always know what to say when someone invites them somewhere. Saying no in a polite way is also a challenge for some of you. That\u2019s when the little elves in my brain got thinking. Here\u2019s\u00a0<strong>my gift to you. Do you know what Black Friday is? (Hint: It has nothing to do with Black Pete\u2026.speaking of which, did you see David Sedaris get his two cents in on Black Pete?\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hPfg20k5TE8\" target=\"_blank\">Check this<\/a>) Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving, and known as the Official Start Of The Holiday Shopping Season. Many stores open at midnight and some people actually sleep outside the night before to be the first ones in to get a good deal on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=raUDOPD5LbQ\" target=\"_blank\">THAT AMAZING PRODUCT<\/a>\u00a0they\u2019ve always wanted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have to go and peel some apples<\/strong><br \/>\n(because this apple pie isn\u2019t gonna make itself)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m always thinking of new ways to make this more fun, helpful, and interesting \u2013 if there\u2019s something you\u2019d like me to discuss, just hollah. If you celebrate Thanksgiving \u2013 enjoy! May you sit at a full table graced by those you love. If you don\u2019t celebrate \u2013 may you take a moment to take in all that you have to be grateful for.
