I cannot believe it.
\nIt’s the 6th of the 6th in 2016.<\/p>\n
What happened to the first half of this year?
\nI swear, I just saw it (looking desperately at bottom of purse). WHERE DID IT GO?<\/p>\n
Before you know it, it will be the summer holidays for many of you. Then the fall (and by this I mean the season, not the downfall of the United States, politically). Then the December holidays, then the year is over. OVER.<\/p>\n
I can feel it speeding past as I type.<\/p>\n
Did you set any resolutions for the new year back in December?
\nIf so, have you done any of them?<\/p>\n
These are mine:<\/p>\n
I wanted to learn how to play the piano. I have not.
\nI wanted to work more with refugees. I have.
\nI wanted to write a book. I did.
\nI wanted to work with more clients. I am.
\nI wanted to work on my World Record Attempt. OH BOY AM I! (You’ll be hearing more about that in the media very soon)<\/p>\n
Those are pretty much my stats. How are yours?
\nIf you gave yourself some goals and have not met them, or even started to meet them, that’s ok. Life sometimes gets in the way of making plans. We all know that.
\nDon’t beat yourself up about it. Life’s much too short for that.
\nBe kind to yourself and realise that there’s still months left!<\/p>\n
You can still make that change.
\nMake that phone call.
\nWrite that book (every book starts with one page. You can write that page).
\nGo to the gym. It takes a short drive or bike ride to get there. But for some people it’s one of the longest journeys they make.<\/p>\n
Yesterday I worked with a small group of crowdfunders who got a step closer to their goals by investing in something that did not exist – my book, and a Learning Event. My book was born, thanks to their help, and my Learning Event will now be known as the Lovely Learning Laughter Launch Lunch. It was a wonderful day filled with bubbles, laughter, hugs, and lots of hard work on professionalizing their English.<\/p>\n
Some of the people there had a goal. And that was to speak better English by the end of the year. To write better songs. To have more vocabulary for their poems. To feel more confident with international clients. To feel comfortable speaking English in public.<\/p>\n
I was so proud to help them take a small step on that journey.<\/p>\n
