PS: And in case you were wondering, it’s ‘on foot’. Isn’t English fun? :)

It’s so confusing, right?
I get this question a lot…
Why is it ‘in the car’ but ‘on the plane’?
And what about the bus?
The bike?
And yes…even the submarine?

(I don’t know how many of you commute by submarine, but I don’t want to exclude anyone, of course!)

Let me help you figure it out.

In general, when we talk about personal, smaller vehicles, we use ‘in’. So, you’re in a car and in a taxi.
If we talk about public transport, we use ‘on’. So you are on the bus, plane and train. (Hopefully, not all at once!)

There are a few exceptions, however, so I had this nifty visual made to help you! Screenshot it and use it whenever you need it!

I hope you are not reading this while you’re on your bike!

Have a super week and I’ll talk to you next week!
