Rock Your English! newsletter

Wait. You look SO amazing today. Are you going to a photo shoot this afternoon, or what? You look so healthy and happy – you must have eaten your very special fruit this morning!

WHAT’S UP IN BUFFILAND

The past week was chock full of academic adventures!

I was the hostess with the mostess at the Open Day at the Rockacademie on Saturday. I showed people around, answered questions, and flaunted my highlighter skills (see photo).

I also did an English teacher training workshop in Rotterdam (thanks for asking me Cora!), training them on how to use my Rock Your English! method in their classrooms and how to make grammar even more sexy and fabulous than it already is.

Utrecht was the place to be for my workshop for vocalists at the Hogeschool van de Kunsten on Tuesday. It was lovely – so much talent packed into such young people! I returned to Rotterdam again on Thursday to do a 7 hour Master Class in lyrics, pronunciation and songwriting for 50 motivated students (they laughed at my jokes for 7 loooong hours, bless them.) at the World Music Center of Codarts.

We also had final exams at the Rockacademie, and by the time you read this, I hope I’ve finished correcting 60 exams. I hope. I really, really hope. (Really. Accepting prayers and donations of shoes and/or gin in the meantime. Thank you.)

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Jump with me into the crazy fun world of my new workshop on March 2 at Muzy Q in Amsterdam. If you want individual feedback on your lyrics and pronunciation, but don’t want to invest the big bucks or deal with my never-ending waiting list, then this is the one for you!

A module is 19.99 for 90 minutes and if you bring a friend use BRINGAFRIEND as the code for 5 euros off. If you come for the whole day, use SPRING as the code for 7.50 off. Can’t wait to see you there – space is limited and filling up fast – here’s how you can order tickets!

HOW TO MAKE ME CRY (new video)

It’s really easy.
1. Write me a mail from your heart telling me what my course has done for you.
2. That’s it. (I cry easily and often. I’m a softie.)

Iris was kind enough to write me a lovely, moving mail about how my course changed the way she thought of English. After my tears dried, I found her and we had a little chat that I filmed just for you!

YOUR QUESTIONS – ANSWERED!

“Queen B, when am I on school?”

Thanks for asking. Never. Unless you are Spiderman. Look at your legs. Are they covered in blue tights? If not, then you are not ON school. Or ON your office. You’re AT school or AT work or AT the office.

If you are wearing blue tights, that’s totally cool and I want you to teach me how to shoot out a web from my bare palms. Thank you.

Well, folks, I hate to love you and leave you, but all good things come to an end. Like this, my weekly love letter to you.

Sending you a glitter-covered unicorn to fly you to the island of your choice, where everyone you love is waiting for you with open arms, ready to give you a Chuck Norris-sized hug.
