This is how we deal with it….

As I write this, I’ve been awake for nearly 31 hours. 

I stayed up all night watching the election results, and stayed up trying to process what I witnessed.

I’m sad, I’m shocked, and I have an immense need to understand why and how this is happening.

MORE THAN EVER, 8 YEARS ON

8 years ago on the morning after Trump won I tweeted ‘If anyone sees me in the next 4 years, please give me a hug because I’ll need one.’ 

The response was overwhelming. So many people wanted to give hugs. 

Heel Holland Hugt was born.

We’ve hughes thousands of people in dozens of cities over the years.

Today I realize that we need to connect and share compassion more than ever. We share more than we think. Let’s remember that as we try to navigate through a very, very divisive world.  

Hook into compassion.

 Connection.

Ask the hard questions. 

Really listen to answers.

Find out where the common ground is.

And then walk on it together.
