Check your calendar. It’s today.
I used to take September 11 off, to sit and remember the people we lost on that day, in my beloved city. My friend Dave, my brother’s dear friend Mark. And thousands of others.
Later that year, I started wearing a flower in my hair every day, to honor my friends and celebrate life in a small way.
After taking nearly 2 decades off on September 11, a couple of years ago I decided to go back to work. To honor my friends by serving others as much as I could.
Life is short. Make it deep.
We have no control over how long we are here, but we can control how we spend our time here.
Every day we get a new chance. And today is only here once. Make yours special.
Liefs,
Buffi

PS: I took this picture at the 9/11 Memorial Museum, of 3 Amish girls praying in front of a Statue of Liberty that was covered with personal items they found at Ground Zero.
We all have hearts that hurt. And hope.
