Oh, sweet darling, how are you? I hope this finds you well. I need to share a little story with you today.
There’s someone I see on a regular basis. He helps me understand my business better. He’s extremely smart, charming, hugely successful, and very, very good at what he does. He also happens to love what he does, and that shines through in every interaction I’ve ever had with him over the decade that I’ve been seeing him.
But there’s one thing I really don’t like about coming to visit him.
It’s his parking space.
He has a gorgeous, expensive car, and I’m sure he’s very proud of it. And he parks it…
…in the very first parking space, closest to the door.
It’s reserved, just for him.
Wow.
Wouldn’t it be great if he gave his clients the opportunity to park closer to the door? What kind of statement would it make to move his car towards the back of the lot- to give his clients the message that they come first on rainy days? That they come first when they’re carrying heavy bags? That they come first when it comes to …..just about everything, including where they park?
It would be awesome if he could go the extra mile for his clients.
But he doesn’t really have to.
Just a few feet would make all the difference.
Where do you park?
Have a super day,
Honking at you from a distance….
