And why you can’t use my name
THE GARBAGE BOWL
I was in the States, watching a cooking show on TV. A famous chef was putting all her vegetable scraps in a garbage bowl on her counter. She was casually talking as she peeled and chopped onions and leeks and put the peels, etc in a bowl on her countertop.
The bowl was simple, but it had her name and logo on it.
It was her officially designed, sophisticated, bespoke Garbage Bowl.🤩
I have been chopping vegetables my whole life. I’ve never had a bespoke Garbage Bowl. I just throw everything into the first bowl I find. 😛
BUT THEN THIS HAPPENED
A few days later, I was in a store, and lo and behold..I saw it.
The.
Bespoke.
Garbage.
Bowl. 😲
There was only 1 left.
There were 2 people fighting over it. 😅
THE PERSON IS THE BRAND
This is personal branding.
They could have used ANY bowl to throw their scraps in.
But no.
They wanted the one with HER name on it.
This made me think. A lot.
People have said that I myself have become a brand.
They know my expertise is packaged in a colorful and energetic way.
With a touch of rock and roll, and lots of humor.
GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
So…guess what I did?
I trademarked my name! 🥳
Now I am officially Buffi ™.
I won’t use it much but it’s fun to know that my crazy name is now officially protected! If you see Buffi ™ somewhere, you know that the quality, effectiveness, and level of fun is sky high!
