It’s not a Monday but I have something to tell you that can’t wait…..

I’m BAAACK! I know some of you reading this might still be on vacation, but I just returned and it was marvellous. I felt like this, every day, for 3 weeks.

….But that’s not why I’m mailing you.
It’s about this.

You, and your dreams.
You’ve got them.
And some of them might be crazy.
I get it.
And this is what happened to one of mine.
A dream that I thought no one would ever get.

This is me, just a few days before my 48th birthday, 3 years ago.

On stage, in front of 10,000 people, teaching them English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in my Rock Your English! Live show. 23 artists joined me on that stage to make it an unforgettable event, and it’s now in the record books as The World’s Largest (and Coolest!) English Lesson.

This started with a crazy idea I had.
The idea that teachers are rock stars.
And that learning English is fun and cool.
I wanted to combine them both on a grand scale, and use my first book, Rock Your English, where I teach English through song lyrics, as the basis.

It took a lot of nerve to pitch this to the organizers of Lowlands. It was so weird, and like so many of ivy ideas, had never been done before.

But guess what? They LOVED the idea! And the rest is history. It took a lot of teamwork to make the dream work, and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped me make this possible.

So…the next time you think you have a crazy idea that no one will get….remember this nearly 48-year old English teacher, mother of two, rocking out on that stage, joined by over two dozen rock stars in an hour-long extravaganza.

If I can do it, so can you!
What’s your crazy dream?
I can’t wait to hear it!

Sending you, as always, so much love…and I’ll be back next week with a special 51st  birthday announcement!

PS: If you are in the Netherlands, I’ll be on TLC tonight (August 15th) at 20.30 (and again at 23.30!) on the Louisa and Rowan show! Watch the English adventures continue!

This was our Tongue Twister Karaoke!
If I can do this, so can you.
What’s your crazy idea?
