’My keynote in Sydney was such a success…I saw a thousand sponges!’

My client was beaming – he just returned from Australia and was ‘too happy for jet lag’.

‘Buffi….I looked out in that huge crowd….and I saw a thousand sponges. It made me smile, and for the first time I shared my message with absorption points. Your tip changed everything. It was slower, more deliberate, and much more meaningful. I was taking them on a journey, instead of just delivering facts. I’ve been presenting for over 25 years, and for the first time, I really felt a deep connection with my audience. I mean my sponges!’

Sweet %FIRSTNAME%, remember this:

Pauses are powerful.

Don’t fear a moment of silence when you are on that stage.

Give your audience a chance to digest what you are saying.

Take a pause after big statistics, transformations, foreign names or concepts.

Give them a chance to absorb it, before moving on.

Honor their time.

And honor your story.

They are sponges just waiting to absorb all that you have to share…but don’t overwhelm them and rush right through it.

They deserve better.

And so does your story!

Love,

Buffi
