HAPPY NEW EAR

Did you catch that, sweetie? See what I did there? No, I didn’t make a typo (if you’re not familiar with the word ‘typo’, it’s basically a cool way of saying ‘spelling mistake made while typing’). I hope that you indeed have new ears this year. That you hear new sounds- hot new music, birds chirping that you’ve never heard before…and lots of new words in English, of course! I hope to help you with that part (I’m not really good on the bird-chirping stuff).

BUFFILAND WAS MOSTLY ON THE COUCH

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and celebrated it with those you love. I myself had a wonderful time. This year was the first Christmas in many years that I took a full 2 weeks off. I lived in my pajamas. I got engaged to Netflix. I read lots of books. I cooked and ate enough for a small village. I didn’t touch my computer. I fell asleep in front of the fire and woke up with ash in my hair. I super-snuggled with my family and friends, and as you read this, I’m on day 5 of a very intense detox. Hello, fresh endive juice every morning…..

SAVE YOUR ASS IN A MINUTE AND A HALF

I made you this quickie video, which will help you to never make a common mistake in English again. I had a little help, though. You’ll see!

BRITISH VS AMERICAN SPELLING

Can you name the correct English words when given the American words? Bet you can. But can you do it in 5 minutes or less? Try it now! Let me know how you did!

YOUR QUESTIONS – ANSWERED!

Actually, the questions people have asked me lately were questions like this:

“Can you pass me the Doritos?”
“When does the movie start?”
“Who ate all the chocolate?!”

So, let’s leave that for next week. Feel free to ask me anything on Facebook or Twitter.

Thank you so much for letting me slip into your inbox today! Let’s make it a great year together – looking forward to coming back next week!

Sending you a new ear that hears only delicious whispers, slowly and often….in my head!
