YOU ARE NOT A NUMBER. THAT’S REDUCTIVE THINKING.

Hi, I’m Buffi, and I’m a 9.5 in shoes.

Is this how you would introduce yourself?

I hope not.

It’s weird.

Even if your real name is Buffi.

Still weird.

Why is it weird?

Because (and this might shock you…) I’m not a number.

And neither are you.

This means I’m not 70 kilos, I’m not a size 42, I’m not a million-dollar coach.

I don’t reduce myself to a number.

I’m not my weight and I am not my bank account.

That is not how I choose to identify myself.

Imagine introducing yourself to someone and saying

Hi I’m Mark and my pants size is 48!

Sounds crazy right?

So why do we put so much emphasis on these numbers?

Reducing yourself to a digit neglects the beauty of your resilience, the power of your spirit, and the depth of your character. Life is not a numerical equation. It’s a magnificent journey filled with twists, turns, and opportunities for growth. Your worth cannot be encapsulated by a set of digits.

You are always adding.

Subtracting.

Growing.

Don’t be reductive.

You’re worth more than that.

Those numbers that get tossed around so freely are not a measure of your self-worth.

They don’t reflect your kindness, your intelligence, or the love you share with the world. Likewise, your bank account is not a testament to your value as a person. True wealth lies in the richness of your relationships, the joy you spread, and the impact you make on the lives of others.

Keep that in mind the next time you refer to yourself as a number.

Oh, and if you see someone who calls themselves a million-dollar coach?

That’s how they choose to identify themselves.

Not by serving a million clients, but by their bank account.

Just keep that in mind the next time you are thinking of hiring a coach.

What do they value?

Their bank account or the lives they have changed?

Just sayin’.

Love,

Buffi ‘no numbers’ Duberman
